After many years of admiring Lily quilts of yesteryear, I decided to design my own version with Country Lily. Measuring 81" square, it is the choice of fabrics that help to give this quilt its country feel. A warm tan print & gold plaid with red check & red stripe in brushed cotton fabric, combined with olive green prints & plaids were our choice for this beautiful applique quilt. Create your lily block & alternating blocks, then set on point & surround them by triangles. To finish, applique the leaves & stem using fusible web & a decorative machine blanket stitch.

Though my husband failed to see the humor in this design, I'm hoping your sense of humor is more like mine. I simply took two of my favorite things - snowmen & roosters - put them in a funny situation & created this unique sweatshirt. The applique shapes are made from a combination of wool or wool felt & cotton fabrics, then appliqued in place with a primitive stitch done in black thread. Fast & fun to make, I hope you agree that This Rooster Ain't Right, but he does tickle your funny bone.
